LOCAL MISSION OPPORTUNITIES
Scripture Readers
Volunteers read the assigned scripture during Sunday morning worship. Schedules are sent out in advance so that the reader
is able to become familiar with the text. The scripture serves
as the basis of the sermon each Sunday.

CFMC is dedicated to supporting the local food pantry at the Windsor United Church of Christ. As the demand for food assistance has increased at local pantries, our food pantry coordinator urges members of Christian Faith to contribute by organizing food donation collections at our church. These generous contributions are then delivered to the Windsor United Church of Christ by our coordinator for distribution.

Christian Faith has a dedicated volunteer representative for the DeForest Area Needs Network.
D.A.N.N. provides assistance to families and individuals who require emergency funds for necessities such as rent, utilities, and medical costs. Our representative coordinates collection efforts at Christian Faith to support these essential needs. One of the largest initiatives our coordinator oversees is the Christmas Mitten Tree through D.A.N.N., which allows church members to donate gifts for children in need within the DeForest Area School District.

The Norski Sharing Shed concept emerged from discussions a few months ago during a monthly meeting of the DeForest Area School District, attended by local clergy and other related representatives. Shirley Block has been participating in these monthly meetings as the CFMC representative, given that we currently do not have a permanent pastor to attend. This idea was conceived to support homeless teenagers in school who require specific items to thrive academically. Following this, conversations with school social workers and psychologists helped to pinpoint those students who would benefit from additional assistance with clothing, hygiene, and other essential supplies. A storage space was necessary, as social workers have limited room in their offices.

Four times a year, we collect a "Joyful Noise Offering." During this special time, the children walk through the congregation collecting coins
(or cash) in metal cans, shaking them to make a joyful noise. All funds raised from these collections go directly toward our youth camp fund.
It’s a fun and meaningful way for our children and congregation to come together, share God’s love, and make a difference—one coin at a time!

Norski Nibbles will be operating this summer to provide kids with nutritious lunches. The need in our community is great! Last year we distributed approximately 5,000 lunches. With over 460 families eligible for free or reduced lunches in the DeForest Area School District, there will be a lot of hungry children in need of a nutritious meal. Norski Nibbles is filling that need with your help. This is an ecumemnical ministry shared with other churches in the DeForest area.
