Lent &
Holy Week
Ash Wednesday &
Lenten Series
Wednesday, March 5, 2025
We gather each of the Wednesdays during the Season of Lent for our Midweek Lenten Series, which takes place in our Fellowship Hall and runs for a total of six weeks.
Holy Week Reading Services
Each night from Palm Sunday through Maundy Thursday, to reflect on Jesus’ actions and teachings during his last week in Jerusalem by reading and singing together from Readings for Holy Week. See the Church Calendar for specific dates and times.
Maundy Thursday
Thursday, April 17, 2025
The word “Maundy” comes from the Latin “mandatum” which means “commandment.” It refers to Jesus’ words in John 13:34 at the Last Supper: “a new commandment I give to you, that you love one another.” We will gather to remember Jesus’ words to his disciples on his final night with them, and we will gather at our Lord’s Table to partake of the sacrament of Holy Communion.
Good Friday
Friday, April 18, 2025
The word “tenebrae” is Latin for “shadows.” We will gather for a Tenebrae Service, a simple worship service consisting of scripture and song, where we will recall the shadows that Jesus faced on our behalf.
